2023 Turkey Trots & Parades

By Helen Adams Realty - November 06, 2023

The holiday season is here and Thanksgiving is around the corner. While "Turkey Day" is primarily known for its food, parades and "turkey trots" are not far behind. Whether you prefer to take in a parade or partake in a brisk run, you can use this list as a guide for Thanksgiving entertainment. It could even become your next family tradition!

35th Annual Charlotte Turkey Trot

The Charlotte Turkey Trot has been a family tradition for over 30 years and offers 5K, 8K, one-mile, and “Tot Trot” options. Beginning and ending at the South Park Mall, this Turkey Trot is the largest road race in North Carolina with more than 9,000 runners.

Turkey Dash at the Village at Robinson Farm

Visit the Village at Robinson Farm for their 11th annual Turkey Dash. This event offers one-mile and four-mile options to run or walk, and a designated family area to keep kids entertained while the adults run.

Lake Norman Turkey Trot

The 17th annual Lake Norman Turkey Trot in Cornelius starts and finishes at Life Fellowship Church. Sign up for the 5K, 10K, or 15K, and don't forget to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit the Human Health Project, which issues grants to local food shelters.

Northwestern Trojan Turkey Trot

The Northwestern Trojan Turkey Trot in Rock Hill is sponsored by Northwestern High School’s Trojan Club and runs through Northwestern High School’s Cross Country course. Participants can choose between a 5K and a 1-mile fun run.

Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade

The 77th Annual Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade will light up the night on Thanksgiving Eve and broadcast live to 1 million household viewers. This is a free event, so be sure to get there early to get a good seat, or VIP tickets will be available to purchase closer to the date.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

If you can't make it to Charlotte’s Thanksgiving Eve Parade, then there is always the classic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. From 9 AM to noon, you can watch this classic parade live on NBC or Peacock.

No matter how you kick off your Thanksgiving, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Helen Adams Realty!
